Glint steps across a fallen log and notices something shining near where his foot landed. He reaches down and picks it up, examining it. A faint glow emanates from its cracked screen. It appears to be an Eden staff tablet. The bottom corner is covered in blood. As he wipes at the blood to reveal the text on the screen, the tablet flashes to life, illuminating his face and the tree nearby. A piercing screech resonates from its speakers for a few seconds, followed by a friendly automated voice giving instructions in case of an emergency.

He fumbles with the buttons trying to silence the noise, but after a few seconds he rears back and hurls the tablet into the jungle. It bangs against a tree and goes silent. He stops and listens to see if it turns back on.

A low, gurgling bark lifts through the rain, sending chills down his spine.

“Uhh, boss, something heard that” he sends over the comms.
